Frequently Asked Questions

What grass-fed basics are good to know?

Animals have a diet that's as straightforward as it gets: grass. But nowadays, it’s become much more than that: corn, soy and grains. We believe in raising animals as nature intended. This means allowing animals to live outdoors, under the open sky, grazing on grassy pastures. Grass is nutrient-dense, while grains are primarily used to fatten animals quickly. Grass-fed meat tends to contain a wider range of plant nutrients, a healthier balance of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids, and a richer antioxidant profile.

What are the nutritional benefits of raising animals on pasture?

A major benefit of raising animals on pasture is that their products are healthier for you. For example, compared with conventional meat, meat from grass-fed beef, bison, lamb and goats has two to four times more omega-3 fatty acids*. Meat and dairy products from grass-fed animals are the richest known source of another type of healthy fat called “conjugated linoleic acid”. When animals are raised on fresh pasture alone, their products contain from three to five times more CLA* than products from animals fed conventional diets. Grass-fed meat also has more vitamin E, beta-carotene and vitamin C than grain-fed meat.

Are your products kosher?

All of our products are 100% kosher. This means everything we sell is prepared according to traditional Jewish law (kashrut), a value we are deeply committed to at FND. We work with world-class schoctim (kosher-slaughterers) to ensure our meat is certified kosher through a strict process overseen by Star K.

What sets your meat apart from conventional kosher options?

While kosher standards ensure strict rules around slaughter and processing, they don’t regulate how animals are raised. That’s where we come in. Conventional kosher meat often comes from grain-fed animals raised in confinement. Our kosher grass-fed meat comes from animals raised entirely on pasture, resulting in richer, healthier meat with natural flavor. We also partner with farmers who use regenerative practices that rebuild soil health and protect the environment — going beyond what’s required to offer you meat that’s better for the animal, the land, and your plate.
